Delegation from Wuppertal Visited HBUT
Hubei University of Technology received a group of special guest: delegation of senior high school students and their teachers from Wuppertal. Over 20 of our Sino-German program students volunteered to keep them company with the foreign teacher Ourania being interpreter. Ye Chaocheng, Dean of School of International Education, gave them a warm reception.
The Delegation first visited HBUT Museum of Ming and Qing Dynasty Furniture, History Museum, and Library. By appreciating the art of classic yellow pear wooden furniture and learning the related knowledge, they were deeply affected by its long history of development and strong academic atmosphere.
After the visit, School of International Education held a reception meeting for the delegation in the Reception Room of Teaching Building No.2.After a welcome speech delivered by Dean Ye Chaocheng, he briefly introduced the university history and international programs, and watched the documentary short film of 2012 HBUT Sino-German Cultural Exchange Summer Camp. Besides, the students and teachers from Wuppertal conducted a further exchange with the program students. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Pottery Workshop of School of Arts and Design. Following the instructions given by our teacher, they made pottery by themselves and enjoyed the time.
During the lunch at the East Canteen, one student of our university fainted suddenly, and several German students offered first aid and accompanied the student to the campus hospital, which greatly moved the students and teachers at the Canteen.
This is the 4th formal reception of Delegation from Wuppertal since 2012 HBUT Sino-German Cultural Exchange Summer Camp. A positive response arose from the students and faculty from both parties.
